The Project
GreenField AgriTech wanted to modernise traditional farming with IoT technology. They needed a system to monitor soil conditions, automate irrigation, and provide data-driven crop management insights across 500+ acres of farmland.
What We Were Up Against
The project demanded reliable sensor connectivity in rural areas with poor internet, processing large volumes of real-time sensor data, building predictive models for irrigation scheduling, and creating a dashboard accessible to farmers with varying levels of tech literacy.
How We Solved It
We designed and deployed a comprehensive IoT ecosystem: custom sensor nodes measuring soil moisture, temperature, pH, and humidity; a LoRaWAN network for reliable rural connectivity; a cloud-based data processing pipeline on AWS IoT; and a farmer-friendly mobile dashboard with automated alerts and irrigation controls.

How We Delivered
Field Assessment
Spent 2 weeks on-site surveying terrain, testing signal coverage, and understanding the existing farming workflows to design an IoT architecture that fits real-world conditions.
Hardware Prototyping
Built and field-tested 3 sensor node prototypes, selected components for durability in outdoor conditions, and designed weatherproof enclosures.
Platform Development
Built the cloud data pipeline, developed the analytics dashboard with automated threshold alerts, and trained a basic ML model for irrigation predictions.
Deployment & Training
Deployed 50 sensor nodes, set up the LoRaWAN gateways, and conducted farmer training sessions. Provided a simple mobile app for daily monitoring.
