The Project
MediTech needed a modern, HIPAA-compliant patient management platform to replace their legacy system. The existing system was slow, difficult to navigate, and couldn't handle their growing patient base of 15,000+ records.
What We Were Up Against
The main challenges included migrating 15,000+ patient records without downtime, ensuring GDPR and healthcare data compliance, building a real-time appointment scheduling system, and creating a responsive interface that doctors and staff could use on tablets during rounds.
How We Solved It
We built a full-stack web application using Next.js for the frontend and Node.js with PostgreSQL for the backend. The system features real-time appointment scheduling with conflict detection, secure patient record management with role-based access control, automated email and SMS reminders, and a comprehensive analytics dashboard for practice management.

Discovery & Audit
Conducted a thorough audit of the legacy system, interviewed 12 staff members, and mapped out all existing workflows to ensure nothing was lost in the transition.
Design & Prototyping
Created high-fidelity Figma prototypes tested with 5 real users. Iterated on the appointment booking flow 3 times based on staff feedback.
Development & Migration
Built the application in 2-week agile sprints, developed a custom migration script, and ran parallel systems for 2 weeks to ensure data integrity.
Launch & Support
Deployed to AWS with auto-scaling, provided 2 weeks of on-site training, and continue to provide ongoing maintenance and feature updates.
